Spring Engagement Photos at Brown’s Island :: RICHMOND, VA

Tayler and Cody’s Brown’s Island engagement photos turned out so beautiful that we just couldn’t wait to share them with you today. We met our sweet couple at the Richmond Weddings Bridal Show and just clicked right from the start. Our gorgeous bride saw our photos at the Wedding Expo, and told us that our photos jumped out at her and just knew we were the perfect match for her wedding dream team. When you know, you just know, right?

Our couple’s wedding is at Virginia Crossings Hotel in Glen Alen VA. Tayler and Cody, we are so excited to be your RVA wedding photographer, and cannot wait for your spring wedding.

How They Met

Get ready for this one; these two lovebirds have one of the coolest How They Met type stories. As a child, our RVA bride and her family moved from New York into their new home in Virginia… which happened to be EIGHT houses away from our groom. She says, “Cody and I have known each other for 15 years… We met at 10 years old and there was no turning back.” Isn’t that incredible?

Their Proposal Story

These two may have met at ten years old, but it took a few years for them to start dating. And after that, it took a few more years for the proposal to happen. Our groom is a Police Officer, so his schedule conflicted with that of his bride to be. As a result, the proposal took a whole lot of being sneaky to make it happen, despite all of the hints from his future fiancé. Little did she know that in November, he booked a weekend getaway to Virginia Beach where he caught her by surprise and ASKED THE QUESTION. She told us, “I was just so excited to spend a full 48 hours together a proposal was the furthest thing from my mind.”

Walking down the beach, they took some photos. And, while Tayler was deciding which photo would make the best Instagram post, Cody got down on one knee. Here’s what our Richmond bride said about it, “I lost it and just cried. It was so perfect. The sun was setting, the sky was cotton candy colored, and no one else was around. It was just a moment of me and him, and it was more than I could have ever imagined.”

Oh my gosh, her engagement ring looks so pretty on these teeny flowers! Cody, you have great taste!
