A last minute change of location plans was the best idea ever, because Libby Hill and Rocketts Landing engagement photos are the epitome of Richmond photo session locations. As a result, we were able to get some classic views of the city as well as some time down by the James river. Our RVA couple are just so sweet with each other. And, we found out during the shoot that we had some mutual friends and even went to the same church for a hot second. Talk about meant to be!
You already know how much we love Libby Hill engagement photo sessions. However, today’s post is all about another area of RVA that just blew us away when we saw it. Just south of the Church Hill and Chimborazo neighborhoods in Richmond VA is a little section of town called, Rocketts Landing. It is known for its industrial – style look. So, you’ll find a warehouse here as well as brick streets. And, guys! The views of the James River make for such picturesque photos! Scroll down for our cute Richmond couple’s story of how they met. And certainly, for some of our favorites from their Rocketts Landing engagement session in May.
Raise your hand if math is your love language. Welp friends, for these two, it’s how their wedding story begins. Our bride had just moved to Virginia from California and was at a friend’s party when her future groom enters the room. After talking for a bit, she finds out that he’s studying Statistics at Virginia Tech. She says, “I got really excited that he was studying statistics b/c my dad is a retired Statistician and I never had met a Statistics student.” Eventually, they make their relationship official after a day date of Maymont Park and Bookbinders Steak and Seafood House here in Richmond.
She adds, “I knew he liked me when the next day, he came to my apartment at 7AM to go running with me. He wasn’t a runner but survived a 2 mile run and did amazing!! I wasn’t sure that I liked him until I sat in church next to him and started to hear him sing. He has an amazing singing voice that captured my heart!”
Walking back to their cars after ice-skating at West Broad Village, our groom gets down on one knee. To which Stacie replies – well, we’ll let her tell the story. She says, “My eyes got big and I said ‘NOOOO’.” Later on, she did say, “Yes,” but how funny is that? Stacie and Austin, we had the best time being your Richmond Wedding Photographer. We hope you enjoy looking through some of our favorites from your Rocketts Landing engagement photo session in the Spring!
