Goodness me. This surprise Tudor Place proposal in June will leave you with all the feels and ready your arsenal with a few proposal ideas or inspiration perfect for anyone looking to pop the question in downtown Washington, DC. First off, let’s take a look at the venue: Tudor Place House and Garden. Located right in the heart of Georgetown, Washington, DC, this romantic proposal location is also a historic garden site. In the case of rain, there are indoor options so that your surprise proposal can go on even in bad weather! Remember, we are just DC wedding photographers and not the venue, so any and all arrangements should be made with Tudor Place directly. Now, our DC bride had no clue that this proposal was coming. Ansley and Tommy are really close with their families, so any big moment could not happen without them. Her family was currently out of town, so the thought was not even on her mind. What was, though, was a summer photo session at Tudor Place for her DC wedding planner slash BFF, Alex, that included our couple’s furbaby. With over 5k followers on Instagram, it was only natural that little Rex needed more publicity. He is really cute, isn’t he?
Oh, you know, just having a little photoshoot for a french bulldog with a wedding planner, because that is just how DC wedding planners are. Or is it?
When Dave and I get to their picturesque Georgetown DC venue, we quickly get the rundown from Alex. Then, quickly find a good spot in the garden to hide. Moments later, Ansley and Tommy come strolling in with Rex. As they walked towards us, he shouts, “Look who’s here!” All of their friends and family come out from their hiding spots, and he gets down on one knee. The rest is history (and thankfully, it’s also here! Reason #1 why hiring a professional wedding photographer for your proposal is a great idea).
Favorite photo right here! See the way that she pulled her hair behind one ear? This girl needed to see her ring. Also, Tommy is doing a bang up job juggling proposing and hanging onto little Rex.
Cheers to these two. There is nothing like enjoying a special moment – like this surprise Tudor Place proposal – with all of your friends and family gathered around you.
Now, onto the couple portrait section of our post. After the proposal and champagne toast, it was time to sneak away for a bit of some one-on-one time with our newly engaged DC bride and groom. If you ask this DC wedding photographer, Tudor Place House and Garden was the perfect background for this surprise photo shoot proposal.
Now, if you haven’t already considered it, this DC couple should look familiar. How much do we love our couples and having Sarah & Dave Photography reunions with them? Without being totally cheesy, we think they are pretty great. Ansley and Tommy, we had so much fun being here for your Tudor Place proposal. Cheers to a lifetime of happiness!
