Summer and Josh’s garden-inspired University of Lynchburg Fall Wedding included blush and jewel tones of emerald green and sapphire blue scattered throughout their Virginia wedding venues, starting with the bridesmaids dresses and the groomsmen’s ties to the floral centerpieces made by the groom’s mother. Those, combined with the greenery in the bouquets and little pops of blush throughout – like her Galina Signature by David’s Bridal blush wedding dress, the rose gold in all of Summer’s jewelry, her flower girl’s accessories, and the accents in her flowers from Gregory’s Florist, were all just the icing on the cake. The warm yellow, blue, and gray art quilt is a highlight of Snidow Chapel at the University of Lynchburg – Lynchburg College and was the perfect place for their “I do’s” and, alongside the reminders from 1 Corinthians that love is patient, kind, and unrelenting lining the windows, it was the best start of their forever. We love all of the greenery that we found surrounding their Virginia wedding venue; it really made for some beautiful pictures of this incredibly sweet couple. Their wedding reception venue, The Glasshouse, had all of the light and bright we love in a wedding venue. Now, enough about this sweet couple and their Lynchburg Virginia fall wedding, let’s find out how it all began.
A few years ago, Summer and Josh met at a mutual friend’s house; the same friend who also set them up on their first date. The two exchanged numbers, but she had reservations. Do you remember Emily and Joe’s story? This sounds so familiar. According to Summer, no way would this blonde hair, blue eyed cutie actually go through with it. She writes, “Little did I know, this wasn’t just any date this was the day my life would change for the better. It’s 5:50pm when I hear the doorbell ring and I’m still making the finishing touches on my evening look. My parents answer the door, I’m not sure of the topics of conversation but I can tell it’s pleasant. I slide into my black sundress, say my goodbyes and hop into the open door of his green Chevrolet pickup truck. We take the drive to Lynchburg, VA to an intimate Chinese restaurant, Kings Island, and as they say the rest is history. I will tell you this, it was the best date I have ever been on. From this very night we have been inseparable. Even though this was only the first date, it’s the date we choose to celebrate as our anniversary. I guess we both knew that this was the very beginning of our forever.” If you’re anything like Dave and I, you love a good story. And really, alongside the “how we met” is the “how forever began.” Summer and Josh have a great one of these. It all starts off with her needing to use the restroom. Grab that Kleenex.
Summer and Josh spent over two hours driving to the Blue Ridge Parkway to look at the gorgeous fall foliage that should have been there. Except. It wasn’t. By the time they reached their destination, the leaves were on the ground and Summer needed to use the restroom. Plans change. A restroom appears followed by wine tasting, lunch, and a few selfies taken in front of a gorgeous view. While she types on her phone, she looks up to find Josh on one knee, saying, “Summer, I brought you here to ask you something.” Oh my goodness. Winery wedding proposals are so great. Ok, enough about the stories, let’s fast forward to their Lynchburg Virginia wedding.
We love all of their blush wedding details; from Summer’s Davids Bridal blush wedding dress to the blush flower girl dress, pink sequined ballet flats, rose gold wedding jewelry, and the blush florals from Gregory Florist. So beautiful!
The sweetest moment! Summer’s bridesmaids wore emerald green bridesmaids dresses from Davids Bridal. This deep green wedding color is perfect for this garden-inspired fall wedding. “In case you cry like a baby.” Love is in the air, y’all! Looking dapper there, gentlemen! Kids at weddings are the cutest and Summer and Josh’s ringbearer duo and flower girl were no exception. Also, their little suspenders and teensy bowties are so adorable! So sweet! It takes a lot of bravery to walk down an aisle lined with strangers, and this little girl was so brave! There is nothing better than watching the bride and groom stare into each other’s eyes from down the aisle. It always brings the biggest smile to our faces. There is so much love between these two. Their Lynchburg wedding ceremony venue was Snidow Chapel at the University of Lynchburg-Lynchburg College. It has the prettiest art quilt, titled “Saving Grace” by Jill Jensen. It is beautiful. Clapping, smiles, and so much joy. We loved being Summer and Josh’s Lynchburg wedding photographers.
