DAR HALL WEDDING PHOTOS | DC PHOTOGRAPHER
Jackie and Jeff are just really awesome people. When we met up for their engagement photos in DC last year we were racing to beat the rain. And we totally didn’t succeed. Dave and I and Jeff and Jackie waited under an awning for a good 15 minutes hoping the rain would stop. They both took it in stride, and Jeff valiantly ran through the rain to get their car so we could all get some cover from the rain. We eventually waited out the rain enough to end their engagement session right at sunset. But their wedding day was the sunniest warm spring day, to make up for it! It also happened to be the same day as the major environmental and global warming protests in DC, that happened to be taking place literally right outside of the DAR Constitution Hall, where their wedding took place. It seriously had to have been by the grace of God that their entire team of wedding professionals somehow managed to arrive on time, despite all roads surrounding DAR being blocked off. Everything went off without a hitch, and everyone was in good spirits, we got some beautiful DAR Hall wedding photos, and it made for a fun story that none of us will ever forget their wedding day. Jeff and Jackie put together the most beautiful classic Navy colored Old World/vintage themed wedding. Jackie had been collecting all of their decorations at antique stores for months. Some of the vintage books and the beautiful antique candlesticks are even from Jackie’s grandmother, and Jackie’s cousin created the paper flowers from pages of a book by hand, to fit perfectly into their wedding at the DAR library. My favorite part of the day though, by far, was their first look. Anyone who says a first look takes away from that moment you walk down the aisle to your groom- well, you just need to take a look at Jackie and Jeff’s first look, and I’m pretty sure your mind will be changed! It was such a sweet and epic romantic moment that they were able to share together while we captured images of it from a distance. It was the perfect start to their wedding day!I just love the antique jewelry that Jackie wore on her wedding day! The clasp on her strand of pearls and her earrings are just so perfectly vintage!Toasting the groom right before he went to go see his BRIDE!And Jackie took a moment to surprise her dad with a first look as well! It was such a special moment.Guys! Aren’t they just the cutest? Look at Jeff’s reaction! Its priceless. I feel like I’m in a movie looking back through these DAR Hall wedding photos of their first look! I really didn’t know where to fit this photo into the blog post, but Jeff’s nephew hung around while we took some formal wedding portraits after their ceremony, and carried this camera around with him wherever he went. I dubbed him my assistant for the day, and he is just the cutest little dude ever! What a good lookin’ classy bunch!I was about to start giving them pointers on how to pose, and then I looked up from my camera and they already had it down. Talk about professional models, right?I love that Jackie and Jeff had such an intimate romantic first look, and also still got to have that special walk down the aisle moment! You can just tell that Jackie took Jeff’s breath away walking down the aisle toward him!DAR Hall wedding photos of their wedding ceremony right in the heart of DC!Smashing the glass and kissing his WIFE!Not only did they end their first dance with a dip, but Jeff then proceeded to pick his bride up, spin her, and carry her off the dance floor. Such a sweet moment with Jackie’s parents on the dance floor watching their three daughters dance with their loves!
