The Virginia House and Jefferson Hotel wedding venues make such a classic Richmond combination that is perfect for any season. Truth be told, they really outdid themselves for our couple’s fall wedding in October. From the vow exchange beneath a gorgeous floral arch to the laughter-full toasts to the the newlyweds, the entire celebration was classy. Fun Fact: before Dave joined me to make the #sarahanddavephotography dream team, my first ever wedding as a Richmond wedding photographer was here (we see you, Julia and Aaron!). So, today’s fall wedding in October was the perfect chance to make a return trip to this pretty RVA venue.
As part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation’s Historic Hotels of America, The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond VA is a meaningful place to both our bride and groom. Also, as two history buffs, I’m sure they would agree that the Virginia House is one of their favorite spots in Richmond VA. Likewise, it’s there that they first fell in love with the city. Aw!
Our couple cared about all of the things that mattered, and our Richmond bride is one of the sweetest souls. They planned for plenty of portrait time just the two of them, which was the perfect start of their day together. And we always love when our couples put a priority on their bride and groom portrait time because those are the heirloom photographs that get passed on from generation to generation. Because we had that extra amount of time, we were able to take photos of our couple and their wedding party in the Loggia and at the Archway and Staircase.
Isn’t she glowing? Girl, you are stunning!
Straight out of a J.Crew catalog, am I right?
The patio just outside of the Virginia House made for such a pretty Richmond wedding ceremony location. With the garden views, Virginia House backdrop and elegant wedding party dress, we were swooning all over the place. Oh, and we mentioned the floral arch, right? Jaw-dropping. Strawberry Fields Flowers and Finds and The Flower Guy Bron wow us every single time.
With cocktail hour taking place at the Rotunda at The Jefferson, Dave and I had the opportunity to sneak into the Empire Ballroom and capture all of the elegant reception details and decor. And oh wow, they were beautiful. Scrolling through this section, you’ll find gold Chiavari chairs, towering florals, and metallic accents on a neutral color palette. It made for a classy presentation that really set the stage for this elegant Virginia House and Jefferson Hotel Wedding.
Heirloom tomatoes, burrata, and crostini? We’re in heaven!
RVA florist, The Flower Guy Bron hits it out of the park every time.
Here they come! The grand staircase at The Jefferson Hotel Richmond makes for a perfect entrance into the wedding reception.
Isn’t this the sweetest? They are such a cute couple.
Aren’t they cute? You guys, we had so much fun as your RVA wedding photographer. Congratulations on your marriage! We wish you a lifetime of love, laughter, and joy-full moments.
