The day that we did Rita and Irvin’s Estate at Independence engagement photos was the hottest, muggiest day. But really, you wouldn’t even know it from their smiles! Our Richmond couple was so happy and joy-full the entire time, despite the crazy temperatures. In addition, they were amazing troopers. And, they look so magically perfect and glowing. One of the highlights of being outdoors at the Golf Club at Independence when it was so hot was that no one else was there! So, we were able to spend time exploring all the secret nooks and crannies of this really pretty RVA wedding venue in Midlothian. It is so beautiful, and there are literally so many picturesque spots. Not to mention, the weather somehow created the prettiest haze.
Our Richmond couple met at Virginia Tech, like to Katie and Thomas. They were friends for years until eventually, they started dating. I love how Rita says, “Pretty soon, we became each other’s ‘person’.” Isn’t that just the sweetest? As their Estate at Independence engagement photographer, it was so easy to see how much in love these two are! I mean, the heat can turn the sweetest of people into stressed out human beings. But these two were just a dream the entire day!
Our RVA groom literally waited until his future wife was finished with work before popping the question. Talk about patience! As soon as they left to go out to dinner, he pulled out the engagement ring and asked her to marry him. Our bride told us that their “regularly scheduled dinner turned into a celebratory occasion.”
You guys, as Richmond foodies – ahem, we mean, as Richmond wedding photographers, brunch is one of the best parts about where we live. There are so many great restaurants to choose from. And even, wedding venues like The Boathouse are even picking up on this one. They do not disappoint! Our RVA bride says, “Brunch is such a fun part of the weekend so we look forward to having mimosas and shrimp and grits and the vibe of a relaxed fun afternoon.” Oh my, shrimp and grits. Rita and Irvin, thanks for fulfilling our wedding catering dreams. We chose to do our couple’s Estate at Independence engagement photos with some pretty golden hour light to capture their brunch themed wedding. Rita and Irvin, we cannot wait for your wedding day!
