RUSTIC WOMAN’S CLUB OF PORTSMOUTH SUMMER WEDDING :: KATIE + THOMAS
Katie and Thomas’s Portsmouth Woman’s Club Summer Wedding included all the right touches of a rustic wedding, like farm tables and a ton of greenery. Their shades of blue wedding colors were woven throughout their big day celebration perfectly, similar to Michelle and Chris’s wedding at The Grand Lodge of Maryland. You’ll find it in the groomsmen’s suits and their shimmery ties, the gorgeous florals, greenery, and garlands from Norfolk Wholesale, their baby blue bridesmaids dresses, and in all of their linens at their Portsmouth Woman’s Club wedding reception venue. Katie’s bridal bouquet included delphinium, daisy, and sunflowers paired with thistle, eucalyptus, and fern fronds. Her mismatched pale blue bridesmaids dresses were floor length and absolutely stunning against the wide front porch and grandiose brick columns of their Portsmouth Woman’s Club wedding venue. Their wedding ceremony venue was Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Norfolk, Virginia. We loved everything about this Coastal Virginia wedding. And, we loved being their Hampton Roads wedding photographers and working alongside Katie and Thomas’s amazing team of vendors.
How they met: These two lovebirds technically met at a bar at Virginia Tech that Hokies lovingly refer to as: TOTS. The actual name of the bar is Top of the Stairs, in case you are wondering. So, they met and were smitten enough to exchange zero information. No phone numbers. No introductions. Nothing. Remember our downtown DC wedding couple? They were introduced, shook hands, parted ways, and… what was his name again? Thankfully, Thomas had all of the keen intuition and beating heart emojis necessary to find Katie on Facebook and send her a friend request. From there, they messaged back and forth until one day, they met in person for the second time, even though they lived more than 300 miles apart. By the summer, everything fell into place. Next, they bought a house and Thomas used the disguise of going to the gym to hunt for the perfect engagement ring. (It worked!) Finally, they chose the Woman’s Club at Portsmouth wedding venue for their perfect Summer wedding. The Portsmouth Woman’s Club has this big front porch with a lot of light and white and huge brick columns that makes it the perfect place for bare feet and Summer wedding photos.

Katie and Thomas chose Norfolk Wholesale Florals to do their garland, greenery, and floral arrangements. Katie’s delphinium, sunflower, and daisy bridal bouquet is so full of texture from the jagged bursts of thistle to the ripply ferns. So beautiful.
The sweetest moment.
Katie had this gorgeous long veil that was perfect for capturing all of these happy moments. Down, it was elegant and subdued, but give it wind and speed, and it turns a sweet picture of a super cute couple into magic. 
So much magic.
Wood and greenery elements of their rustic wedding were woven throughout their perfect day. You’ll find them in their wooden cards and gifts sign, their cake topper, and the green centerpieces for their table settings.
You did it, Mr. and Mrs. Barringer! Yay!
