CLASSIC BELLE ISLE VA ENGAGEMENT SESSION :: ALLISON + NICK
Alongside all of our favorite Richmond wedding venues (this city is such a show off, is it not?), our favorite engagement sessions are at the historic Tredegar Iron Works and Belle Isle. We also love Maymont. We were lucky to be able to capture a couple there when the Cherry Blossom trees were in bloom and the entire engagement session was absolutely stunning. But 2018 was the year of Belle Isle Virginia engagement shoots. For anyone who has not spent some time in our beautiful city of Richmond VA, Belle Isle is just an absolutely stunning gem of a place in the middle of the James River right in the heart of town. We love it for the variety of backgrounds, but mostly, its rocky waterfront views.
When Dave and I are hired to be your wedding photographers, we always send out a tiny questionnaire that, by completing, helps us get to know you as a couple. Knowing you helps us know how to tell your wedding day story well. After photographing hundreds of weddings, we have found that it makes a huge difference and is such an important part of the process. Now, we loved them from the minute we first met them at the Richmond Weddings bridal show, but when we we read Allison and Nick’s questionnaire, we just knew we were in for a treat. They met in high school (thanks to a seating arrangement), started dating, then went to rival universities. Something happened the day of the proposal – no spoilers now, but click here to read more – and Allison’s dad knew all about Nick’s plans and never ruined the surprise. Oh, and it was perfect.
