BOATHOUSE AT SUNDAY PARK SUMMER WEDDING :: ALLISON + NICK

I’ve heard how some colleges will begin their freshman orientation meetings with something along the lines of “Look around to those sitting next to you. You may be looking at your future wife, husband, best friend, bridesmaid…” and sometimes, that can be exactly the case. If you’ve read any other blog entries here, you know that, while love can take time to develop, it can also truly start in an instant like sitting beside someone *in your assigned seat* in a high school science class. I love how Allison and Nick start their story with “we had chemistry from the very beginning.” It just rings romance. And, their burgundy and blush Boathouse at Sunday Park Summer Wedding here in Richmond Virginia is no exception. Scroll down for all of the details and some happy moments from this Richmond couple’s perfect day. For their equally romantic RVA engagement photo session at Belle Isle, head on over to this post on our blog.

Because they met so young, Nick and Allison were able to go through major milestones together. Allison writes, “We’ve always been there for each other.” In fact, their whole relationship was like that, even when they went to rival colleges. Somehow, this UVA and Virginia Tech couple made it work. Nick’s surprise proposal happened the same day that Allison received a speeding ticket. We all know how those can really make a good day turn into something worse. Allison says that she called her dad who told her, “I hope something happens that improves your day.” Her dad knew all about the proposal. Sneaky! Even though Allison was having a bad day, she met friends on the lawn at the University of Virginia and walked to the Rotunda where she saw Nick. She thought he was there for support, but quickly changed her mind when he got down on one knee. Literally perfect timing, Nick. Isn’t that every relationship goal?

This sweet couple chose the Richmond wedding venue, The Boathouse at Sunday Park. From the white beams to the beautiful backdrop of the Swift Creek Reservoir and the perfect pops of blush and burgundy wedding colors (and even the yellow sailboats that we found!), their big day was a dream for this Richmond wedding photographer. Allison and Nick, your wedding was perfect in every way. We wish you all the best! Now, let’s take a look at their pretty wedding day.

Allison is stunning! We love her Tiffany’s Bridal wedding dress.
Aren’t their wedding colors beautiful? Blush and burgundy are seriously the perfect wedding color combo. Add to that light gray suits from The Black Tux for the groomsmen and a navy one from Jos. A. Bank for the groom and I’m in heaven.
Look at that texture. Perfection!
That moment of anticipation as the bride walks down the aisle. As wedding photographers, we have our eyes on her and on others watching her… especially the groom. Isn’t that the sweetest? Absolutely stunning. They are just so in love! The Boathouse at Sunday Park is definitely a gorgeous wedding venue. We love the white beams, the gorgeous florals from Flowers Make Scents, and the beautiful backdrop of the Swift Creek Reservoir. It was just all so – perfect.   Aren’t they just the cutest? And the yellow sailboats. I just can’t.
