Hoist your sails and batten down the hatches, because Dave and I have a little blog post (this one!) that may shiver your timbers. Or, something like that. If you are Richmond couple who totally digs the nautical theme and really wants to incorporate it into your wedding day or, if you’re just looking for a pretty waterfront wedding venue, look no further. The Boathouse at Sunday Park may be the perfect spot for you.
This RVA wedding venue has two options for any couples looking for a great space to book their seaside soiree. The ceremony garden option is ideal for an outdoor ceremony with a waterfront backdrop. One of our Richmond couples, Allison and Nick, had their summer wedding ceremony here, then had their wedding reception at the venue’s onsite garden pavilion. With both heating and air conditioning, the Garden Pavilion at The Boathouse has enough room for an intimate ceremony or reception. More people can be accommodated for with the addition of a tent. This RVA venue offers a variety of wedding packages – click here for more information. We loved working here and know that you will love the space too! This is the entrance for guests, the wedding party, and eventually, the bride. One of our Richmond brides had her summer wedding here. Early September before the change of the season plus a cool, waterfront wedding venue was the perfect combination.
A simple floral arrangement at the head of the pavilion and small flower arrangements attached to the white chairs were the perfect ceremony decorations for this Richmond wedding venue. That backdrop! Or, maybe it was our Richmond couple? On to the Boathouse at Sunday Park reception site, their Gardens Pavilion. Bistro tables, catering onsite, porthole windows, and shiplap, this Richmond wedding venue has it all.We were hired as the official photographers for a tropical theme event with Richmond Weddings located here. Completely heated and air-conditioned, this space is perfect as a mid-Summer wedding venue. Too hot in July or August to have an outdoor wedding anything, but still want the feel of a waterfront wedding venue? No problem. The neutral palette of this totally indoor space is ready for your wedding day or event dreams without having to worry about the outdoors.Right outside the Gardens Pavilion at the Boathouse at Sunday Park is a private deck. These rattan, high back chairs had us dreaming of a tropical getaway.
The vaulted ceilings, exposed beams, and abundance of natural light makes this space a no-brainer for a wedding reception, especially in the summer. As wedding photographers, we have found that when the season changes to fall and winter, the lack of natural lighting later on in the day can be a challenge for an evening or late afternoon wedding reception. The Boathouse at Sunday Park has that issue solved with additional lighting lining each and every beam. The end result is like a twinkly reception space beneath the stars (but indoors!).
It is also a great spot for some quick getting ready bridal portraits and bridal detail photos.
Even the bathroom space is nautical theme! This stunning Richmond wedding venue has thought every detail through. Anchors away, friends. This Richmond wedding venue is quite a catch!
