Deep purple and blue colors combine with romantic wedding vibes and some of the prettiest fountain views to create this summery Stonehenge Country Club wedding. You guys, we live for light, bright, airy pictures as Richmond wedding photographers. However, the black and white photos from Stacie and Austin’s wedding here are everything. And, all of the little touches that our RVA couple included in their big day really shined against the neutral backdrops of Stonehenge Golf Club. Oh, and the fountain added the most romantic – y touch to our RVA couple’s formal portaits.
Ok, so one of our RVA couples chose Midlothian Mines Park for their engagement photos location in March. And, those pretty photos are coming here to our little blog soon. I’m not sure if it means that we need to get out more or what, but y’all – we had no idea the park even existed! Also, it’s literally so close to the Stonehenge Golf and Country Club. Now that that’s settled, let’s talk about our bride and groom’s getting ready moments at the Stonehenge Country Club. Their engagement photos at Libby Hill Park and Rocketts Landing were so elegant and included a fun pop of color. So of course, we knew to expect the same from their wedding day. For starters, their bright indigo blue wedding invitations with cream and light pink floral designs spoke to our souls. And THE FLORALS. Stacie’s bridal bouquet had some of the faintest light pink – pale mauve roses snuggled against little periwinkle flowers and untamed greenery. Richmond florist Vogue Flowers nails it every time.
Our RVA bride and groom chose to have their getting ready photos – as well as their ceremony and reception – at their wedding venue. With separate spaces for them to both get ready with their crew, it made the transition from one to the other really easy. While Stacie and her girls had some fun moments laughing with her cute flower girls, Austin and his guys spent some time relaxing with a card game. Just moments before the ceremony, our couple spent some time being prayed over by their wedding party.
We love all of these moments with our Richmond bride and her mom! Also, the buttons on the back of Stacie’s wedding dress sure are pretty. But, how great are moms who are patient enough to button them one by one? That’s love, you guys.

Stacie’s wedding party included flower girls who all wore flower crowns. Her bridesmaids wore deep purple dresses and white Toms that matched our bride’s wedding shoes.
Proud moment between Austin and his dad. We love it when we are able to include our couple’s parents during their getting ready time. They really make for meaningful captures of the wedding day.
Austin and his groomsmen wore indigo blue 3 – piece suits with purple pocket squares. Our groom wore a deep purple bowtie while his guys wore matching neckties. Engaged couples, if you don’t want to have a totally different wedding look than the rest of your crew, including something subtle like this is a great way to go. It adds a tiny bit of distinction between you and your party while still providing a crisp, clean look.
As Richmond wedding photographers, there is nothing that we appreciate more than when our couples get our opinion on where to photograph their wedding story. This space downstairs near their getting ready locations had the light background that we love for photographing. And, it made for a great space to capture all of the joyfull moments that happen during first look photos.
Silver dollar eucalyptus seems like such a trendy wedding flower right now, and for good reason. It looked so pretty throughout all of the floral arrangements – from the flower crowns to the wispy greenery in their ceremony backdrop, and even, their aisle markers.
Stacie and Austin had a sand ceremony in place of a unity candle. She is from California and had sand from there. And, he’s from Virginia and had sand from there. They combined the two into one really pretty bottle, and it really made for such a meaningful element of their day. We loved that they did this, because it reminded us of our own wedding. #weddingphotographerperks
Ok, so maybe that title is a bit long. But seriously you guys, the fountain at our couple’s Stonehenge Country Club wedding sparked JOY. Maybe it was the result of our happy bride and groom. Or, maybe it was the fact that an August wedding in Richmond can mean Virginia heatwave, and we were all just happy to survive it. But really, the fountain backdrop at Stonehenge Golf and Country Club made for some of the prettiest, joy-full wedding day photos. Also, the fact that our couple had access to a golf cart and we got to capture some happy moments with them in it really made all of us grin. Golf club weddings are so fun!

Stacie and Austin’s wedding decor for their summer wedding day combined little touches of whimsy and romantic wedding theme. You’ll find: gold floral hoops of whimsical flower arrangements, wispy eucalyptus, twinkly lights, and bright indigo blue table settings. It’s easy to see how much fun our RVA couple had during their wedding reception. And, we won’t mention who won the bridal bouquet toss, but it had us all laughing. Stacie and Austin, your romantic Stonehenge Country Club wedding was definitely a great way to wrap up our summer wedding season. We had so much fun being your RVA wedding photographer and wish you all the best!
