Where do I even start with this one?  The fact that Maryland’s record snow storm decided to roll in on Samantha and Alex’s wedding weekend? The fact that this bride and groom are both USNA grads, but that they didn’t meet until they were both in the wedding party for Samantha’s brother’s wedding?  Samantha and Alex both bravely serve our country in the military, and knew that they only had a short window of time to have a wedding before they were both deployed again.  That weekend just so happened to coincide with a record breaking blizzard and downtown Annapolis- where their Naval Academy wedding would be taking place, was literally smack dab in the eye of the storm.  Samantha and Alex both stayed so calm and collected and creative throughout the weekend, determined to make things happen.  I don’t know how they did it!  I think when you know that- in the end- you’re going to be married to your best friend and soul mate- it makes everything else pale in comparison. And as their Naval Academy wedding photographer, I knew i had to do everything in my power to be there on their wedding day (we prayed so hard!).  Even if it meant falling on my butt a few times and asking my amazing neighbors to literally shovel a path the width of a car down our street when the plows didn’t show up in time (true story! shout out to awesome neighbors!).  Their USNA wedding ceremony and Overhills Mansion wedding reception both turned out perfectly and we couldn’t have asked for a prettier day for some lovely winter wedding photos! And, hey- Samantha and Alex ended up getting married during snowstorm Jonas! You can’t really beat that!
