Usually I first hear about our Sknow Photo couples’ love stories first from the bride and groom. But I got updates and fell in love with Jen and George’s love story before I even officially met them. You see, we are good friends with Jen’s sister and she first told me about how George was just perfect for Jen and she knew he would be the one. I followed along their story as George asked Jen’s dad for his blessing, as George starting asking and planning for the perfect ring for Jen (which he designed just for Jen!), and as everyone waited for that day that they knew was coming sometime soon. But I still hadn’t even met them at this point. When we finally got to meet Jen and George over coffee, it really truly felt like I was meeting with an old friend. They are two of the most natural, welcoming, kindhearted folks, and we immediately knew we would work really well together and have fun with them! Their Whitehall manor wedding in Virginia was the perfect mix of traditional and fun. George’s family has Lebanese roots, so they added a few Lebanese touches – like the traditional celebration cookie (called mahmoul) as their wedding favor, and instead of a bouquet toss, they presented a bouquet to George’s grandparents in celebration of their 70th wedding anniversary! How sweet is that? As their Whitehall Estate wedding photographer I was in heaven with all of the sparkly silver and white with dark purple details everywhere. And all of the candlelight! It was the perfect romantic winter wedding in Virginia. Jen and George both wanted their wedding to be traditional and romantic but fun and you could tell! The details were perfect and all of their guests partied on the dance floor all night! It felt like a reunion where everyone knew each other! Thats my favorite!
